摘要: Previous studies have provided conflicting evidence as to whether an increased risk of mediastinitis is associated with use the internal mammary artery a coronary bypass graft. In this study effects grafts on wound complications were analyzed in prospective, nonrandomized fashion. At New York University Medical Center from January 1985 through May 1988, 2356 patients underwent isolated revascularization. Among these 1394 received one or more (group I) and 962 had vein only II). Group I mean age 59.5 years versus 67.7 group II; diabetes was equally present both groups (22.7% 24.7%). Operative mortality rate 1.3% 5.6% II. Sternal infection significantly prevalent (2.2%, 31/1394) than II (0.8%, 8/962). Multivariate analysis revealed that aortic crossclamp time, single graft, double sternal infection. The bilateral grafting doubled odds ratio compared combination 13.9-fold. Patients graft who longer period hospitalization without We conclude by especially presence diabetes.
