摘要: During the summer of 1980, there was a great deal rainfall and high humidity in southwestern Ontario. Sprouting kernels on plants field pink discoloration down-graded white winter wheat crop. Samples were submitted to Agriculture Canada from elevators boats loading for export. Chemical analyses indicated low levels vomitoxin, with some analytical results as 8.5 ppm. A series feeding trials initiated contaminated (1.0 ppm vomitoxin) determine effects swine poultry. Swine diets containing 0.3 0.7 vomitoxin resulted decreased feed consumption weight gains. Poultry fed similar without any serious effects. Gross examination internal organs at termination subacute studies revealed no apparent toxic Several farmers reported refusal, vomiting death their livestock. analyses, general, relatively vomitoxin. In one case, level (0.95 ppm) enough be possible contributing factor observed ill
