摘要: The cost-benefit evaluation of passive fire protection adoption in the road transport liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) was investigated. In a previous study, mathematical simulations real scale scenarios proved effectiveness protections preventing "fired" boiling liquid expanding vapor explosion (BLEVE), thus providing significant risk reduction. present study economical aspects are analyzed and an approach to analysis (CBA) is proposed. CBA model based on comparison reduction due (expressed monetary terms by value statistical life) cost application fleet tankers. Different types were considered, as well possibility apply entire or only part it. proposed real-life case presented discussed. Results demonstrate that tankers, though not compulsory Europe, can be economically feasible, representing concrete measure achieve control "major hazard accidents" cited European legislation.
