摘要: Rising levels of unemployment in European welfare states have revived questions on the social protection unemployed and people’s solidarity with this claimant group. Does unemployed—in terms benefits they would grant group—decrease when economy fares ill is rise, or does increase as many more people are at risk losing their jobs? And, do changes economic conditions affect all groups alike, there differences socio-economic position? In study, we address these using repeated cross-section data from Netherlands period 1975–2010. Our multilevel analyses show that times higher higher, while independently that, downturn lower. These macro-level effects vary only little across groups, yet find rate affects positively during good times. This indicates depends, among others, specific macro-economic constellation unemployment.
