摘要: Network architectures and data communication protocols for supporting both downstream upstream transport of digital between a headend facility multiple network terminals over shared medium include framing compatible with DAVIC/DVB modem transmission synchronization FEC standards at the physical layer. The frames are formed by two or more repeating pairs DVB frame slots, wherein each is transmitted same interval, e.g., 250 usec in preferred formats, regardless number slot it contains. All rates supported single rate. Upstream bandwidth allocated based on selected set operating criteria service type priorities, polling basis contention basis, one in-band RF carrier channels. Low delay services such as synchronous telephony provided requisite delivery priority.
