摘要: Behavioural profiles can be shaped by genotype and environmental factors during early phases of life. The aim this study was to investigate whether anxiety-like behaviour, exploration adrenocortical stress responses modulated social experiences in adulthood. Male mice lacking the serotonin transporter gene which is under scrutiny for anxiety disorders were compared with heterozygous wildtype controls. Concerning experiences, males all three genotypes provided a winner or loser experience resident-intruder paradigm on consecutive days. Anxiety-like behaviour recorded dark-light, elevated plus-maze open-field test. To non-invasively assess activity, corticosterone metabolites determined from feces. main findings were: Repeated experience, irrespective winning losing, levels decreased exploration. In losers distinct effect occurred, homozygous knockout showing more less than other genotypes. winners no genotype-dependent variation found. Genotypes did not differ basal hormone secretion. There was, however, higher activation system winners. This strongest genotype. conclusion, our data show that circuits retain their plasticity throughout adulthood phase Moreover, responsiveness towards negative life influenced significantly 5-HTT
