摘要: Vitamin D plays a role in central nervous system (CNS) development. Recent literature focused on vitamin status children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), but inconsistent results. Our case-control study is aimed at evaluating serum 25-hydroxyl-vitamin (25(OH)D) concentration ASD (ASD group, n = 54) compared to affected by other neurological psychiatric disorders (non-ASD 36). All patients were admitted the Complex Operative Unit of Child Neuropsychiatry, Polyclinic Bari, Italy. 25(OH)D was quantified chemiluminescence immunoassay level defined as: deficiency ( 100). Statistical analysis performed using SPSS20 (significance < 0.05). The group showed mean significantly lower than control (p 0.014). Multivariable logistic regression an association between 0.006). nature such unclear. may probably act as risk factor for development ASD. Further studies are needed unravel etiology investigate its therapeutic potential.
