Active Factors in Dance/Movement Therapy: Health Effects of Non-Goal-Orientation in Movement

摘要: Dance/movement therapy (DMT) is an academically young discipline with a need to identify effective movement interventions and active factors of dance related health improvements. Non-goal-orientation defining aspect improvisational dance, one the most used forms in DMT sessions. Based on phenomenological approach psychology Straus (Nervenarzt 3(11):141–178, 1930), this pilot-study tested whether non-goal-oriented versus goal-oriented has positive effects perceived stress, well-being, general self-efficacy, body undergraduate students. Forty-six students were assigned either experimental condition or control condition. In support hypothesis, stress well-being improved significantly compared group. Body self-efficacy both, Implications findings for are discussed.
