摘要: This paper presents the design and experimental results of a Thomson coil-based fast mechanical switch for hybrid ac dc circuit breakers rated at 30-kV voltage 630-A current. The compact with optimized parameters geometric dimensions components targets 2-mm travel within 1 ms when driven by 2-mF capacitor bank precharged to 500 V. use disc spring as damping holding mechanism is presented. Structural complete assembly rather than just actuator given. Experimental show that can 1.3 mm in first 3.1 mm 2 ms 360-V bank. Such switches facilitate breaker interruptions 2 or 3 ms ultra-fast highly efficient protections 5–35 kV medium-voltage well systems.
