摘要: In many space nuclear power systems, the primary and/or secondary loops use liquid metal working fluids, and require accumulators to accommodate change in volume maintain sufficient subcooling avoid boiling. This paper developed redundant light‐weight bellows‐type with without a mechanical spring, compared operating condition mass of for different types fluids temperatures: potassium, NaK‐78, sodium lithium total capacity 50 liters nominal temperatures 840 K, 860 950 K 1340 respectively. The effects using spring structural materials on design, operation are also investigated. structure considered include SS‐316, Hastelloy‐X, C‐103 Mo‐14Re. accumulator weighs 23 kg 40 coolant 100 respectively, following loss fill gas. addition comes penalty, favor higher redundancy maintaining subcooling.
