摘要: In his 2008 book, The Good Citizen: How a Younger Generation is Reshaping American Politics, Russell Dalton argued that young people are `reshaping politics'. Dalton's good citizen thesis people, inthe United States and in other advanced democracies, much more likelyto engage non-electoral forms of participation (such as attending demonstration signing petition) less likely to participate electoral activity voting joining political party). Using data from the International Social Survey Programme this article examines extent which case Australia. doing so, author finds engagement attractive young, influence politics seems be waning. This, it argued, could have large effects on future Australian democracy.
