A Pediatric Case of Severe Chronic Interstitial Lung Disease Presenting as Spontaneous Pneumothorax: Blame It on the Birds

摘要: ABSTRACT Interstitial lung diseases, including the hypersensitivity pneumonitides, are rare in childhood. Although end-stage disease, honeycombing and pneumothorax, well known complications of pneumonitis (HP) adults, spontaneous pneumothorax have not been previously reported as bird fancier's a child or adolescent. We report case 15-year-old girl who presented with complicating interstitial disease. Lung biopsy demonstrated mild honeycombing. Chronic was identified underlying etiology. This illustrates severe chronic disease that can occur adolescents.
