摘要: In earlier studies we identified in a human genomic library gene (human relaxin H1) coding for relaxin-related peptide. We now have evidence that the genome possesses an additional (designated H2) which appears to be selectively expressed ovary during pregnancy. Nucleotide sequence analysis revealed striking differences predicted structures of encoded by these two genes. Chemical synthesis biologically active based on obtained from ovarian cDNA clones confirmed (H2) encodes authentic relaxin. The transcribed into different sized mRNAs and preliminary suggests mRNA transcripts possess 3'-untranslated regions. There was no expression H1 so far it is unclear whether another tissue or represents pseudogene. From data presented here will possible construct oligonucleotide probes raise antibodies against synthetic peptides could then used identify sites biosynthesis specifically quantitate either H2
