摘要: Background and Objectives: Brain arteriovenous malformations AVMs have been consistently regarded as congenital of the cerebral vasculature. However, recent case reports describing "de novo AVMs" sparked a growing debate on nature these lesions. Materials Methods: We performed systematic review literature concerning de utilizing PubMed Google Academic databases. Termes used in search were "AVM," "arteriovenous," novo," "acquired," all possible combinations. Results: 53 articles including total 58 patients harboring allegedly acquired identified by researching literature. Of these, 32 male (55.17%), 25 female (43.10%). Mean age at AVM diagnosis was 27.833 years (standard deviation (SD) 21.215 95% confidence interval (CI) 22.3 to 33.3). Most managed via microsurgical resection (20 out 58, 34.48%), followed radiosurgery conservative treatment for 11 (18.97%) each, endovascular embolization combined with five (8.62%), alone three (5.17%), remaining eight cases (13.79%) having an unspecified therapy. Conclusions: Increasing evidence suggests that some discovered develop time after birth. are still long way from finally elucidating their true nature, though there is reason believe they can also appear Thus, we result 'second hit' variable type, such previous intracranial hemorrhage or vascular pathology. The characteristic may tremendous impact prognosis, risk hemorrhage, short long-term management.
