Clinical experience with the use of a bipolar catheter electrode pacemaker is reported in 7 patients acute myocardial infarction complicated by Adams-Stokes attacks due to asystole or complete heart block. 2. The for 2 6 days resulted spontaneous return normal sinus rhythm patients, whereas another patient had permanent implanted surgically weeks later. 3. Mortality was reduced 14 per cent; one fatality occurred single who catheterized twice, but died unexpectedly on thirteenth day. Survivors have returned work after recovery from infarction. 4. Problems management, especially unstable cardiac mechanisms and conduction during transition period recovery, been cited.
