摘要: For people suffering from neuromuscular diseases there is a need for device to support the weight of their arm against gravity and allow either residual muscle force or external power position in space. Many current assistive devices are externally powered, tend be very bulky, have poor aesthetics. The non-powered available suffer limited range motion several other inconveniences. Home visits patients SMA (spinal muscular atrophy) were made, literature search was performed assess adequate design specifications, based mainly on motion, activities daily living, home environment. This paper presents statically balanced, design, which compensates human all four degrees freedom arm.© 2002 ASME
