摘要: A significant amount of information can be obtained from pathological analyses pseudophakic human eyes postmortem in terms interactions between an intraocular lens material/design and surrounding ocular tissues. The ability to perform direct entire organ containing artificial implant, at different intervals after implantation large numbers, is unique Ophthalmology. In our laboratory located the Moran Eye Center, University Utah, we have analyzed more than 600 donor implanted with lenses. this chapter describe some major studies using these important specimens, which focused on capsular bag opacification. Relatively series were used compare 1- 3-piece hydrophobic acrylic lenses posterior capsule outcome complication was also compared silicone round or square optic edges. Furthermore, had opportunity evaluate a small number bag-in-the-lens, not available United States. We expect gain better knowledge preventative measures for opacification other complications as increases new designs become market.
