摘要: BACKGROUND Adolescents and young adult (AYA) women with cancer are at risk of heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) due to thrombocytopenia, coagulopathy, and/or disruption the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Currently, little is known about current practices help prevent treat HMB in AYA cancer. METHODS We surveyed providers from 100 pediatric oncology centers. Face content validity were assessed prior distribution. Descriptive statistics, Chi-squared Fisher exact tests used for analysis. RESULTS Ninety-four percent respondents have recommended preventative suppression. More than half agreed that patients following types cancers should receive suppression: sarcomas, acute leukemias, lymphomas, germ cell tumors. The most preferred form suppression was GnRH agonists. Almost 95% felt it important consider a formal guideline initiation would be helpful. Only 46% comfortable personally managing CONCLUSIONS vast majority oncologists who responded this national survey feel many cancers. Although often suppression, they do not doing so desire guidelines management. Future studies assess which require best tolerated efficacious needed.
