摘要: The present study was aimed to deepen the knowledge on diet and feeding preferences of Italian roe deer. research carried in Castelporziano Presidential Estate, a protected area Latium coast. Quadrat method used assess plant frequency, whereas composition determined by fecal micro-histological analysis. A total 143 species were identified site 109 them found feces Capreolus capreolus italicus. All over year, most taxa ingested low percentages (≤5%) utilized Quercus suber, Prunus spinosa, Rubia peregrina, Crateaegus monogyna. Fagaceae Rosaceae families represented bulk positively selected. In addition, positive selection Fabaceae Oleaceae wet season but not dry one. both periods deer showed for deciduous woody plants evergreen plants, instead avoided wild forbs graminoids. Our results confirmed that this subspecies behaved as generalist highly selective feeder.
