摘要: The movement of 131I-human serum albumin (HSA), 125I-iodide, and 57Codiethylenetriamine penta-acetic acid (Co-DTPA) from the ventriculocisternal perfusate into caudate nucleus normal rhesus monkey was studied. An analysis periventricular tissue concentration profile each isotope made. HSA and/or an isotopically labeled degradative product rapidly cleared brain; extracellular fluid (ECF)-capillary efflux half-time 33 min calculated. Iodide did not appreciably cross capillary endothelium continued to move further brain with increasing perfusion time. apparent diffusion constant iodide in could be determined; a value 6.7 × 10−6 cm2/s obtained. Co-DTPA served as reference marker compound. implications these observations are discussed respect osmotically generated edema formation brain.
