摘要: In "Matters of Choice", Iris Lopez presents a comprehensive analysis the dichotomous views that have portrayed sterilization either as part coercive program population control or means voluntary, even liberating, fertility by individual women. Drawing upon her twenty-five years research on sterilized Puerto Rican women from five different families in Brooklyn, untangles interplay between how make decisions and their social, economic, cultural, historical constraints.
