摘要: Both plants and animals possess biochemical systems to sequentially transform glyceride lipid into fatty acid derivatives by a process that could be given the generic name, “polyunsaturated (PUFA) cascade.” Although similarities exist between plant animal cascade, substantial differences not only in pathways of sequence, but also control mechanisms regulating so-called end products formed. Typically, cascade is composed following steps: (a) hydrolysis lipids phospholipase, lipase, or other lipolytic acyl hydrolases; (b) oxidation released PUFA lipoxygenase (LOX) prostaglandin endoperoxide synthetase; (c) enzymatic conversion these oxidized acids (either hydroperoxides hydroperoxyendoperoxides) variety derivatives. The compounds produced usually play an indispensable role controlling certain metabolic functions organisms.
