摘要: Naturally occurring viral infections have the potential to introduce confounding variability that leads invalid and misinterpreted data. Whereas diseases of research rodents are well characterized closely monitored, no naturally been for laboratory zebrafi sh (Danio rerio), an increasingly important biomedical model. Despite ignorance about viruses, models rapidly expanding in areas where effects unknown infectious agents present a serious concern. In addition, many colonies remain linked ornamental (pet) trade, which can contribute introduction new pathogens into colonies, whereas mice used purpose bred, with from pet industry. Identifi cation, characterization, monitoring viruses crucial improvement health, reduction unwanted variability, continued development as model organism. This article addresses importance identifying characterizing scope expands also briefl y susceptibility experimental infection utility immunology
