摘要: The chemistry of fatty-acid aluminum salts, particularly stearates, was studied in polypropylene, liquid hydrocarbons, and fluorocarbons. Heating results a series related events. distearate carboxylate coordination bonds are altered from crosslinked to intramolecular, the Al–O–Al bond is weakened or broken. Stearic acid, which formed as decomposes, changes rapidly dimer less stable monomer form, with heat conversion 4.9 kcal/mole. stearic acid unaffected by presence bonds.
