摘要: As part of a major cooperative seismic experiment, series refraction profiles have been recorded in south - central New Mexico with the goal determining crustal structure southern Rio Grande rift. The data gathered greatly expand base area and consist three interlocking regional profiles: reversed E-W line across rift, an unreversed N-S axial line, SW-SE line. shows no significant dip along Moho (′32 km thick crust) 7.7 km/s Pn velocity. Results from NW-SE indicate apparent velocity 7.95 thinning toward southeast. When interpreted together, these rift 4–6 respect to northern adjacent Basin Range province establish be approximately km/s. These results suggest that can identified as feature separate distinct province.
