Internal crustal deformation in the northern part of Shan-Thai Block: New evidence from paleomagnetic results of Cretaceous and Paleogene redbeds

摘要: In order to describe the internal deformation of northeast part Shan-Thai Block resulting from penetration Indian plate into Asia, a paleomagnetic study was carried out on Cretaceous and Paleogene strata in southern Simao Terrane. High-temperature magnetic components with unblocking temperatures around 680 degrees C were isolated positive fold test shows its primary nature magnetization. The tilt corrected site-mean directions Lower Upper Menglun area are D-s = 46.2 degrees, I-s 45.9 k 11.0, alpha(95) 10.6 33.2 30.9 68.4, 8.2 respectively. for Mengban 50.5 31.0 207.6, 6.4 43.5 23.0 26.1, 13.4 results Mengla 46.9 42.2 27.3, 7.7 41.8 23.8 38.9 5.8 comparison previous data Terrane, rotational can be divided four stages. Paleocene sediments Terrane experienced intensive folding before early Oligocene. During Oligocene Miocene, Indochina Blocks southeastward extrusion similar 20 clockwise rotation relative South China Block. middle late more 15 rotation.
