摘要: Climate changes are rapidly intensifying and can lead to adverse global health impacts. Indigenous populations especially vulnerable climate change because of their dependence on the environment for cultural activities subsistence. The voices Inuit Elders seniors encompass deep wisdom history; as such, the goal this research was examine perceived impacts of climate environmental physical, mental, emotional health, observed by Elders and in community Rigolet, Nunatsiavut, Labrador, Canada. A mixed-methods approach used gather data capturing these local observations, well on community health. survey administered November 2009 (n = 75) in-depth interviews were conducted with from January October 2010 22). Survey results indicated that observing weather patterns, water systems, and wildlife more likely perceive (p < 0.05). Emergent themes interviews included: recurring observations change, including changes in temperature, ice, snow, seasonal timing; physical reduced activity levels poorer nutrition; mental feelings isolation depression; an identified need community-wide adaptation.
