Socioeconomic Disparities in Prevalence, Treatment, and Control of Hypertension in Middle-aged Koreans

摘要: BACKGROUND We investigated socioeconomic inequalities in hypertension prevalence, treatment, and control among middle-aged Koreans. METHODS analyzed data from 4275 adults aged between 40 64 years who participated the Korean National Health Nutrition Examination Survey, 2007 2008. Education, income, occupational level were evaluated to assess relationship of status with control. RESULTS There significant differences individuals no hypertension, controlled uncontrolled both sexes. In multiple logistic regression models, as compared men had more than 12 education, those 7 less education odds ratios (ORs) for untreated 2.14 (95% CI: 1.18 3.90) 2.98 1.42 6.28), respectively (P trend <0.05).
