摘要: [1] This was the first study to analyze phytoplankton and zooplankton community size structure during hurricane passage. A three-dimensional biophysical model used assess ecosystem dynamics, plankton biomass, distribution in Gulf of Mexico Hurricane Katrina (2005). Model simulations revealed that large were most responsive hurricane-induced turbulent mixing nutrient injection, with increases biomass along track. Small phytoplankton, microzooplankton, mesozooplankton primarily shifted location increased spatial extent as a result Katrina. passage disrupted associated mesoscale eddies. Biomass minimums maximums resided center warm- cold-core eddies eddy peripheries prior displaced
