摘要: Background: Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (LRYGBP) has been shown to be safe and effective. There is little data on the outcomes in massively super-obese patients, with a body mass index (BMI) &ge60 kg/m2(super-super-obese). The goal of this study was determine safety effectiveness LRYGBP these compare results patients BMI <60. Methods: 213 consecutive undergoing by single surgeon at university hospital were included study. divided into 2 groups: <60 kg/m2(n=167) ≥60 kg/m2 (n=46). groups compared regard perioperative complications, postoperative weight loss. Results: Both had statistically similar complication rates. major complications 8 (5%) lower group 3 (7%) higher group. minor 9 4 (9%) Mean percent excess loss (%EWL) 64% 1 year 53% Conclusion: can performed safely effectively super-super-obese (BMI ≥60). Although have less %EWL than lighter they still end up good result. Therefore, should considered surgical option even for ≥60.
