摘要: Abstract Wind data at and above the 500-mb level taken from El Paso, Tex., rawinsonde Station (rawin) pressure-height same levels Albuquerque, N. Mex., Midland, Tueson, Ariz., Chihuahua, Mexico, during 1965–66 winter 1966 summer periods were used to study geostrophic wind deviation. Geostrophic winds computed directly by a finite-difference method compared actual as measured Paso. The variations of “apparent” deviation with speed examined. Errors involved analyzed “true” total accelerations estimated. Results reveal: (1) that despite improvement in accuracies radiosonde rawin data, errors still account for large portion apparent higher (at 150-mb level); (2) use ...
