摘要: Background. Increased oxidative stress play an important role in the risk of cardiovascular disease, mortality, and mortality patients undergoing dialysis. Nasturtium officinale (watercress) contains numerous phytochemical compounds that act as antioxidant by preventing damage to biomolecules. Therefore, this research aimed explore effect ethanolic extract (EENO) on biochemical markers hemodialysis patients. Methods. In double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 46 were randomly recruited consume either 500 mg/day EENO (n = 23) or placebo capsule for 4 weeks, at Shahid Beheshti Hospital, Yasuj, Iran, 2019. Biomarkers including glutathione peroxidase (GPX), superoxide dismutase (SOD), malondialdehyde (MDA), total oxidant status (TOS), capacity (TAC), sulfhydryl protein (T-SH) parameters such BUN, Hb, WBC, PLT, Ca, Ph, K, ALB, TChol, TG, LDL, HDL evaluated days 0 28. Results. The serum levels MDA BUN significantly decreased after taking supplementation ; however, SOD activity increased during same period . TAC remained constant intervention group, while it declined group also prevented elevation LDL TG compared although was not statistically significant. Conclusions. data indicated consumption improved some minimizes change due these factors morbidity dialysis patients, can improve condition However, more studies with longer times different doses are recommended.
