摘要: Bipolar high voltage direct current (HVdc) links present one reasonable solution to realize bulk power transmission schemes. Especially if full-bridge modular multilevel converter topologies (FB MMC) are utilized, a broad variety of operational advantages exists. To completely unveil intrinsic technological potentials, comprehensive control and protection concepts discriminate handle ac, dc, as well internal faults essential. The proposed scheme consists fast selective multizonal fault detection paired with decoupled ac dc controls. As result, actively controlled interruption reactive injection incorporated. It is demonstrated that quantities remain within feasible technical boundaries, interactions limited or even fully mitigated, thresholds can be chosen enable tripping. validate evaluate the concept, simulations for characteristic performed in electromagnetic transients software.
