ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN NIGERIA

摘要: The interface between entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial environment has been given attention in literature. This paper starts by placing issue of theoretical context, with particular reference to Nigeria. Two major perspectives were considered; however, work dwelt extensively on demand side perspective, which gives primacy compelling influence practice. Using resources from academic publications, reports publications government agencies other stakeholders field of entrepreneurship Nigeria, some policy programmes examined a view understanding their relevance states development initiatives country. It was found that most considered moribund either due discontinuation succeeding governments or lack adequate resources, both human material, for their operations. In few cases where place, skewed spread observed,which capable hampering success these programmes. recommends following: an auditing all avoid duplication clashes spheres operation; continuity programme implementation; commitment credit institutions activities beyond “comfort zones” they currently operate;and sustained education enlightenment opportunities abound amongst others
