摘要: The aim of this study was to characterize for the first time spermatogenesis and spermiogenesis in freshwater planarian Schmidtea mediterranea using both light electron microscopy. Starting from border towards testis lumen we found types I II spermatogonia, clusters primary secondary spermatocytes, spermatids free spermatozoa. Light microscope observations show that type spermatogonia have a large pale nucleus whereas are significantly smaller than one I, darker central bulky nucleus. At ultrastructure level, characterized by wide with scanty cytoplasm containing ribosomes, mitochondria dense chromatoid body endoplasmic reticulum Golgi complex were not observed. spermatocytes displays numerous ribosomes many cisternae complexes, suggesting development these organelles during might contribute synthesis hormones proteins such as testosterone, transcription factors tubulin. Mature spermatozoa structure closely resembles those other triclads nucleus, single fused mitochondrion, row cortical microtubules pair flagella conforming 9+'1' microtubule pattern described Platyhelminthes.
