摘要: Nurse hot line calls are a potential source of public health surveillance data and may help identify epidemics emerging infectious diseases. In this study, nurse from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, showed more than 17-fold increase in for diarrhea during the 1993 Milwaukee cryptosporidiosis outbreak. Moreover, consistent patterns seasonal variation diarrhea- vomiting-related were detected Baltimore, Maryland, Albuquerque, New Mexico, lines. Analysis provide an inexpensive timely method improving disease surveillance.
