摘要: Summary Viruses transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes constitute an increasingly important global health burden. Defining common determinants of host susceptibility to this large group heterogenous pathogens are key for informing the rational design new pan-viral medicines. Infection vertebrate with these viruses is enhanced presence mosquito saliva, a complex mixture salivary gland-derived factors and microbiota. We show that enhancement infection saliva was dependent on vascular function independent most anti-saliva immune responses, including Instead, gene product sialokinin mediated virus through rapid reduction in endothelial barrier integrity. Sialokinin unique within insect world as having vertebrate-like tachykinin sequence absent from non-vector competent Anopheles mosquitoes, whose not pro-viral did induce similar permeability. Therapeutic strategies targeting have potential limit disease severity following mosquito-borne viruses.
