摘要: Ce(IV)-induced polymerization of acrylonitrile and methyl methacrylate with acetylated cotton having different acetyl contents was investigated. The extent interaction between the monomer is dependent upon content former as well on reaction conditions. Increasing caused a significant decrease in graft yield. concentration accompanied by substantial increase yields. same effect found initiator up to certain concentration, but beyond it there reversal. rate grafting increased rising temperature follow order 60° > 40° 30°C. Ce(IV) consumption during greater than that consumed oxidation. cellulosic materials favorably influenced concentrations initiator, time, temperature. Rates oxidation cottons strongly support postulated mechanism using Ce(IV)–cellulose redox system. had practically no groups (expressed per cent combined acetic acid) modified cotton.
