摘要: Intermittent short-radius centrifugation is a promising countermeasure against the adverse effects of prolonged weightlessness. To assess feasibility this countermeasure, we need to understand disturbing sensory that accompany some movements carried out during rotation. We tested 20 subjects who executed yaw and pitch head while rotating at constant angular velocity. They were supine with their main body axis perpendicular earth gravity. The was placed centrifuge's Head produced transient elevation heart-rate. All observers reported head-contingent sensations tilt although bodies remained supine. Mostly, subjective conform model based on semicircular canal responses acceleration. However, surprising deviations from found. Also, large inter-individual differences in direction, magnitude, quality illusory observed. results have implications for subject screening prediction tolerance centrifugation.
