摘要: Mitomycin C (MMC) therapy often causes toxicity affecting the small intestine. We investigated relationship between pathological manifestations and cell death, or proliferation of intestinal villi in rats treated with MMC. The length villi, apoptosis, were evaluated intestine at 3, 7, 11 days after MMC treatment by TUNEL method, BrdU-immunohistochemistry, transmission electron microscopy. In MMC-treated rats, body weight decreased until day 7 recovered from 8, while most had watery stools 4 to 7. shortest on still shorter than control group. highest incidence TUNEL-positive cells crypts was observed number thereafter reach level 11. percentage BrdU-labeled 3 lowest but clinical symptoms caused are consistent changes villous that reflect viability stem about earlier.
