摘要: Objective:To investigate the health behavior associated with influenza vaccination among healthcare workers (HCWs) in long-term–care facilities.Design:A cross-sectional, self-administered survey of HCWs, augmented focus groups to further examine attitudes toward vaccination.Setting:Two facilities participated survey. The were held at one two facilities.Participants:All HCWs invited participate and all nonmanagerial staff members groups. response rate for was 58% (231 401).Results:Vaccinated had a more positive attitude greater belief that vaccine is effective. This not accompanied by differences knowledge or values potential preventive outcomes. Nonvaccinated respondents likely believe other measures, such as washing hands, taking vitamins supplements, eating nutritious diet, exercising, homeopathic naturopathic medications, effective than vaccination. Additional findings from suggest main purpose programs protect residents' expense, harm, burden responsibility staff.Conclusions:This study identifies challenges opportunities improving rates HCWs.
