Sexual health of women aged 40 and over attending an inner city integrated sexual health clinic.

摘要: Sexual health policy remains focussed on younger adults. However, rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in older people continue to increase. We explored the sexual healthcare needs women aged 40 and over attending an integrated clinic South London. conducted a retrospective case note review found that almost 20% these had STIs. These included genital herpes, trichomoniasis, warts, chlamydia gonorrhoea. Less than quarter reported use condoms during most recent contact, indicating risk-taking behaviour. 38% attended for contraception. The can only increase, given our rapidly ageing population. Age-specific promotion strategies are needed.
