摘要: Using a transorbital middle cerebral artery (MCA) occlusion model in cats, we evaluated the anti-oedema effects of new anti-inflammatory agent, ebselen (PZ 51), on ischaemic cortical oedema caused by prolonged ischaemia and recirculation. Local blood flow was measured hydrogen clearance method MCA territory corresponding specific gravity assessed microgravimetric technique. Ebselen had no significant effect normal lCBF, while it significantly ameliorated post-ischaemic hypoperfusion following In severely regions, microgravimetry showed beneficial recirculation as well. Although exact site action is undetermined this study, observed may be ascribed to agent’s broad-spectrum activities.
