摘要: There is a growing trend to bring medical diagnostics closer the patient. In his perspective, David Walt describes how advances in sensors as well developments micro and nanotechnologies are enabling development of miniature diagnostic platforms. These platforms contain all necessary functions perform sample processing analysis. As systems become simpler less expensive they will be used patient eventually likely at home for health care monitoring.
