摘要: FRIENDSHIP WAS PART Of the ancient heritage which Renaissance humanists attempted to reclaim for themselves and their age. They did not deny that "friendship" in some form had always existed, but they attributed Greeks Romans a peculiarly exalted of this relationship, rare any age all unknown modernity. In concluding his tale Tito Gisippo Tenth Day Decameron, Boccaccio (or storyteller Filomena) laments its disappearance:
