摘要: Abstract —Large-vessel manifestations of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a multisystem disease characterized by disturbances in the immune system, include higher than expected rates hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Reductions elasticity central arteries may act as marker early changes that predispose to development major vascular This study evaluated risk factors associated with aortic stiffness measured pulse wave velocity (PWV) women SLE. We SLE-specific factors, especially variables indicative inflammation active disease, be increasing PWV. The population included 220 currently enrolled Pittsburgh Lupus Registry. All factor data were collected on day ultrasound examinations. PWV waveforms from right carotid femoral Doppler probes. mean age was 45.5±10.8 years, median SLE duration approximated 9 6.1±1.7 m/s. Multiple regression models stratified menopausal status. Among postmenopausal women, primarily traditional age, systolic blood pressure, family history plaque, creatinine, obesity, glucose, white cell count, cumulative organ damage. premenopausal consisted mix SLE-related C3 levels, presence ds-DNA antibodies, nonuse hydroxychloroquine, lower leukocyte arterial plaque. appeared increases PWV, indicating artery stiffening. seen most clearly among women. finding partially explain observed young
