摘要: An ethnic analysis was made of 8947 cases primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors seen at the Armed Forces Institute Pathology (AFIP), Washington, DC, from 1971 to 1985. Results showed a slightly higher frequency CNS in whites than blacks with white:black case ratio 9:1 against population United States 7.4:1. Gliomas appeared be twofold more frequent 12.1:1. However, meningiomas and pituitary adenomas were common 6.7:1 4.2:1, respectively. When these results compared previous identical study using similar materials collected AFIP 1958 1970, relative paucity gliomas American is again confirmed, thus re-emphasizing importance genetic factors genesis tumors. The remarkable decreasing as whole (9:1 13.7:1) since 1970 probably reflects socioeconomic improvement during same period.
