摘要: OBJECTIVE To assess the plaque removing efficacy and safety of a novel manual toothbrush (Oral-B Pulsar-PUL) compared to leading battery toothbrushes. METHODOLOGY Three clinical studies were conducted, each having randomized, examiner-blind, crossover design. Study 1 PUL newly marketed toothbrush, Colgate 360 degrees (COL), 2 Oral-B Advantage Plus (AP) CrossAction (CA) toothbrushes, 3 two Power (CAP) Crest SpinBrush Pro (SBP). Before brushing visit, subjects refrained from all oral hygiene procedures for 23-25 hours, received an tissue examination, pre-brushing was scored based on Rustogi et. al, odified Navy Plaque Index. After brushed with assigned in their usual manner one minute, tissues then re-examined post-brushing scores recorded. Subjects whole mouth mean > or = 0.6 continued study after first visit. Following brief washout period between additional visits, above repeated remaining treatment periods. The examiners who made measurements blinded sequence. RESULTS All toothbrushes significantly (p 0.0001) reduced levels areas single brushing. showed significant difference areas, mouth, margin, approximal < 0.05) COL. In 2, removed more 0.01) 0.005) than AP as by examiners, but did not show advantage versus CA. 3, CAP SBP (both p 0.0001), marginal 0.005, 0.0001, respectively) areas. found be safe no evidence hard soft trauma. CONCLUSION new Pulsar Plus. Additionally, brushes, Pro.
