摘要: Abstract A series of 84 patients is reviewed in whom cervical incisions were done because major maternal and/or fetal complications demanded termination labor. Incisions the cervix should play a definite but limited role practice obstetrics. The incidence this was 0.66 per cent total deliveries during seventeen-year period. If not technically so, to facilitate delivery must nonetheless be considered operation from standpoint mother and fetus. Prolonged labor occipitoposterior positions contributed majority indicating incisions. Severe cephalopelvic disproportion serve as contraindication procedure. Optimum conditions that prevail before are techniques used described. Maternal morbidity occurred 20.2 postpartum hemorrhage 17.9 cent. There no deaths. Careful selection cases yield high salvage (95.35 series). It believed many infants saved by procedure benefits outweighed hazards attendant incising operative below.
