摘要: A novel radiation emission from traveling charged particles in vacuum is theoretically demonstrated. This conical as the Cherenkov radiation, but emerges backward directions of particle trajectories. The basic mechanism Smith-Purcell effect via interaction between and a circular-symmetric photonic wire with one-dimensionally periodic dielectric function. exhibits band structure characterized angular momentum. can resonantly excite modes particular momentum, depending on velocity. simple kinetics enables us to design emitted directions. Numerical results are also presented for metallic aligned air holes.
